Arthur "Ray" Human Service Scholarship

On October 6, 2017, Arthur R. Applewhite passed away at the age of 64 years old. The Arthur “Ray” Human Services Scholarship, presented by J.A.C. Unlimited, Inc. (Joy of Always Caring), was established to honor the legacy of compassion, service, and dedication to helping others that embodies the spirit of Arthur “Ray." Applewhite.

This scholarship is designed to empower youth and young adults who are pursuing higher education and need additional support as they transition toward independence. Recognizing that success in school extends beyond tuition costs, the Arthur “Ray” Human Services Scholarship provides practical, life-sustaining assistance to help recipients focus on their education and future.

Funds from this scholarship may be used to cover essential needs such as:

~Groceries and personal care items
~Utilities and housing expenses
~Clothing and school supplies
~Transportation and other daily living costs
 

Through this scholarship, J.A.C. Unlimited, Inc. continues its mission to uplift and equip youth and young adults overcoming barriers such as homelessness, re-entry, domestic violence, or aging out of foster care. The Arthur “Ray” Human Services Scholarship not only eases the financial burdens of college life but also reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering hope, opportunity, and community for every young person we serve.

Arthur "Ray" believed in education and was able to put his daughters through college. He was also able to witness and celebrate his oldest daughter graduate with her master's degree in 2011.   

He was a Board Member of J.A.C. Unlimited, Inc. Arthur was an investor in the vision, mission, and helped bring J.A.C. Unlimited, Inc. to reality. To honor his memories and what was important in life that he cherished was God, family, education, and helping others. His legacy lives on...
